Mod Moai.....
“MINIMALISTIKI” is a modern, minimalist take on the monolithic Easter Island tiki gods known as Moai. They are individually hand screen printed ceramic sculptures. It has been a long time coming, since the initial conception to what you see below. Now all the teething problems are sorted they will soon be available to buy online. I'll keep you updated.

Banksy.....
I love art that makes a comment on society. One guy who has pretty much carved a brand from using his art as a tool for protest is Banksy. This guy is just plain brilliant..... and before you say "oh yeah, that street artist, seen it all before" check this.
and if ya want more check his site. (like he needs a plug!)

8-bit kid.....

Check what my son Liam (6yrs) made from his duplo blocks. Liam watches limited tv and we don't own an x-box or anything of the like, infact he's never played a video game. ever. It is so different to his usual creations such as ducks, cars and his signature crocodile. So when he popped this little beauty out yesterday, my wife and I were suprised at how much it looked like space invaders! We were both 80's teens, so the whole 8-bit thing has been ingrained......we must ask, without any outside influence, has this been inherited? Freaky.

Forage no more.....
On the search for materials for a new sculpture piece, I was led to a local scrap metal yard. I have been frequenting this place for a long time now, only to find out I was not allowed to forage in the yard no more. Two words...Public Liability.
Another great resource for Central Coast artists was the now defunct "Junkastic Park" attached to the Kincumber rubbish tip, it was "found object" heaven for a me! You name it, they had it...and yep those dirty two words were the cause for it's closure a few years back. Another two words...fuckin sucks.
Thought i'd try to find a pic of "Junkastic Park" for the post with no luck, but did stumble across this report dating back to 2002...it even mentions Port Mac's Peppermint Park (skatepark) which suffered the same fate. click here www.gosford.nsw.gov.au/liability
Have we gone crazy? Where will it end? Thank goodness i've still got the good old kerbside pick up.

Sure is even Stokeder!.....
Attended the opening for the Gosford Art Prize on friday night and was shocked to hear I had won a prize for my social comment sculpture Sure Ain't Sushi. The piece was actually created for the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize and was rejected, so to win was a massive boost for me! Many thanks to the Judge Tony Geddes, the Director of Mosman Art Gallery, for his understanding of the piece and his supportive comments, the sponsors and the Staff at Gosford Regional Art Gallery.

PK RIPPERS reminiscing....
I was out today getting some building supplies in the local industrial estate and drove past the studios where my old band the PK RIPPERS used to jam it out. A flood of great memories came back to me and later today was suprised to still find our tracks, several years later, still up on www.mp3.com.au ...so I thought I'd share some of our old punk tunes for your listening pleasure...enjoy!
